Humanities & People's Sunflower of the East combines images and interviews to illustrate the proactive approach to new media experiments made by contemporary academic artists, with special attention paid to top oil painting arist XU Jiang, whose interest in the new media art phenomenon is shown along with a documentary covering his life over the past 60 years. The film uses a wide angle lens in illustrating XU Jiang's poetic reveries, his artist's passion, theorist's sensitivity and public speaker's charisma. It also uses exquisite shots to present the unique meanings and definitions of XU Jiang's work.
