More than 30 years ago, when the nuclear disaster occurred in Chernobyl, Maria was over 50. Her village was in the 30km restricted area. She and her neighbors were sent far away. Missing her hometown, Maria and her several sisters returned to the village secretly and lived a self-sufficient life.
